TT: Tender Mercies

Thankful Thursday Logo bIt’s been a bit of a hard week for me. I started writing this post, and it turned into something else. A multi-part post, that didn’t really feel like it should be a Thankful Thursday post, but one of it’s own. So I saved what I had, and tried to think of what I’m grateful for this week, and do you know what? It wasn’t hard to find. When we look for the good it’s never far away. We get bogged down with daily tasks, and interactions, but if we stop to think about the good, there it is. Always waiting for us to take notice.

Just like today. I looked, and I found it. I’m grateful for the tender mercies of the Lord. He gives us a little here, and a little there to help us in this journey. And all we need to do is notice them. A co-worker’s kind words to lift us on a hard day, someone just seeing how we’re doing, that nice driver letting us in, a hug from your kid. So many things to help lift us and be able to continue on. Always coming to remind us of God’s love, and our worth.

“We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord…”

-David A Bednar

I am truly grateful for the help He has given me these past 2 weeks.
